Welcome to Buford Wyoming, Population 1!
This tiny town has two big claims to fame. First, with a population of only 1 person, Buford is the nation’s smallest town. Buford Wyoming sits at 8,000 feet. It is the highest town in elevation on Interstate 80, the main cross-country route between New York and San Francisco.
Buford is conveniently located in south-eastern Wyoming between Cheyenne and Laramie. The town and trading post exist right along Interstate 80 and Old Lincoln Highway (U.S. 30).

- Cheyenne, home of Cheyenne Frontier Days.
- Laramie, home of Jubilee Days and University of Wyoming.
